“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this,
To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep
himself unspotted from the world.”
- – - James 1:27
At Bible Baptist Church we believe and practice our faith outside the walls of the church building. Worship services are designed to do just that, WORSHIP.
Inside the walls our worship services and our Sunday School program are opportunities to be Equipped, Energized, Edified and Empowered to do the Lord’s work – - – outside the walls!
At a recent nursing home service an elderly seasoned saint informed the preacher, “Pray for me! God forgive me for not being faithful to attend services at my local church.”
To which the preacher responded, “No, Sister! Forgive us if we fail to come here to preach the Word!”
Godly, precious saints are all to often ignored in today’s society. Ministry at a Nursing Home facility is more than “Preaching!”
Spending time, a kind word, a smile, some goodies, a song, a card, a visit, . . . even a cup of cold water. We celebrate the belief, “It’s all ministry. God gets the glory and we get the blessing!”
We will, however, admit, part of our motive is selfish. One day, should our Lord tarry, that may very well be us at that Nursing Home. According to the principle of Sowing & Reaping, visiting and ministering to others insures us that, when and if that day comes, someone will be there to visit and minister to us.
